Grilled Sausage Sandwich
Ingredients:
2 sausage links (Italian, bratwurst, or preferred type)
1 small onion, sliced
1 small red bell pepper, sliced
1 small green bell pepper, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
2 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns
1 tbsp butter, melted
2 tbsp mustard (yellow, Dijon, or spicy brown)
¼ cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions:
Grill the Sausages:
Preheat a grill or pan over medium heat.
Cook sausages for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and fully cooked.
Sauté the Vegetables:
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and bell peppers. Season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Cook for 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
Toast the Buns:
Brush hoagie rolls with melted butter and lightly toast on a pan or grill.
Assemble the Sandwich:
Place the grilled sausage in the toasted bun.
Top with sautéed onions and peppers.
Drizzle with mustard and sprinkle with shredded cheese if desired.
