Old Fashioned Pimento Cheese
Ingredients:
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly grated
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, freshly grated
1 (4 oz) jar pimentos, drained and finely chopped
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
Directions:
In a medium mixing bowl, combine both grated cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses with the finely chopped pimentos.
Add the mayonnaise to the cheese and pimento mixture, stirring until well combined.
Season with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix thoroughly to distribute the spices evenly.
Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and black pepper according to your preference.
Refrigerate the pimento cheese for at least an hour before serving to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.
Serve your old fashioned pimento cheese spread on crackers, as a sandwich filling, or as a dip for vegetables.
