The Best Baked Beans
Ingredients:
4 cans (16 oz each) pork and beans
1 onion, finely chopped
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup distilled or cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1/2 pound bacon, chopped
Directions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
Cook Bacon and Onion: In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until it starts to crisp. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent and tender.
Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and mustard. Stir in the cooked bacon and onions.
Bake: Transfer the bean mixture to a greased 3-quart baking dish. Bake uncovered for 2-2.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened and caramelized.
Serve: Serve hot as a perfect side dish for barbecues, picnics, or family dinners.
